Sumac by tosee

Sumac

The red conical blooms of the sumac are composed of densely packed red drupes
containing single seeds. Not quite fully turned red in our area.
Glad you told me what this was. Looks like a candy tree. It's very interesting. The colors are bold and vibrant and the dots on the drupes are curious. I'm going to have to look at a sumac more closely next time I see one.

A new one on me too Tom: I like Kathy's @randystreat description - a candy tree! Great image for shot 500 in your main album.

Terrific shot, Tom. Love the composition of the red drupes against that lovely blue background.

I was shocked when I shot sumac berries last year. I used to think the berry cluster was just brown fuzzy stuff...but when you take a close up, you realize they are juicy berries... I read that they used to make jelly with the berries.
