Standing birch by tracymeurs

Standing birch

Thank you all so much for the kind comments my post yesterday. It meant more than you can know.

This shot was taken back in January and I never used it but did want it to be a part of my project. This was taken along the shoreline of Lake Huron.
I can see why you would want to include this shot, it's a beautiful winter scene. Have a nice weekend Tracy.

A lovely image Tracy, I am in awe of the snow and this is on the shoreline of a great lake :)

A very nicely composed scene. The canoe adds a unique touch. I especially like the stand of trees on the right; they look pretty against the moody sky.

You asked about how I got the whites so white in the egg yolk picture. The original image had more of a yellow hue but I was able to alter that in Adobe Camera RAW. (I shot in RAW.) What really did the trick tho was converting to B&W. I then did the SC thing with the yolk. For indoor still life pics I use 5000K CFL light bulbs, and the white balance on the camera set to 'sunlight', which gives me a truer color than lights I've used in the past.

@lyndemc thanks so much for the info. I also shoot in raw but have never thought of converting to black and white first to get images whiter. Also great info on your lighting. Will give that a try. Thanks so much!
