April29_Armoire_2014

One shot today! I spent the day hanging 27 pictures in the Franciscan Hospice on Bridgeport way. They will be there 6 weeks. After going to swim, I was tired, but I drove away thinking I'd get some shots because Mt Rainier was clear and huge today. But I stopped to inquire about artist space, and fell in love with this blue armoire. It was dark wood but has been painted with chalk paint, (not chalkboard paint, this is from France) This paint sounds very cool and I bought a small bottle to play with in a soft turquoise. I'm thinking of buying this, have to measure my space.
A lovely buy! Fantastic colour! I like the dressing table too!!

A beautiful piece of furniture. I hope it fits your space so you can have it. My daughter and I use chalk paint all the time (Annie Sloane) it covers almost anything. I want to try painting fabric soon.

@sansjuan Yes, this is a mix of Annie Sloane's paint, a dark blue and old white together. I'm excited to paint some things myself. Her store is in England and she also spends time in France. So, on the west coast of USA we are behind the times!!

Wow! ooh I love you get it. The colour is so yummy.

@trinda You will have fun with the paint, she has many techniques too. The shop where we buy paint has books on her ideas. Are you going to paint furniture? Or something more creative?
May 2nd, 2014
@sansjuan furniture for sure, maybe even another apothecary chest I'm also buying from the store. It's in Paris Gray, so may be too bland without re-painting. I also have a grungy fabric chair I'm considering. And of course my frames. How about you putting up a photo of one or more of your projects? A collage perhaps?

What a great find! I love this armoire! Did you buy it?

@trinda Trinda, we have painted furniture and sold it... My daughters have a couple of pieces but they live south of me. Next time I see them I will take a couple of pictures. The store we buy the paint from has furniture they paint too and it is closer to me. If I get over there I will take some photos. They have samples of painted wood where they have layered the paint too. I really want to do a chair or something and will be looking for a project. I have also thought of doing a photography background but I am not an artist so I have to think about that a lot... Ha, ha. I'd love to see your chair if you paint it.
