Sequoia, the mare on the far right, foaled last Sunday, a mustang paint filly named Aspen. The foal closest is the orphaned foal, who was running around when I showed up, now eating buttercups. He is happy and filling out. His mom was part Arab so he is a smaller stature than the other foals here, though they all have the same father. Everyone doing well, and it was fun to see them so frisky. Not in this shot as I was trying to get the whole grouping.
Oh how sad, an orphaned foal! We had a foal born in our back paddock five years ago, but sadly he had to be put down earlier this year. I never got to know a horse like I did "Baby Spirit." I've got pics of him in my project...somewhere.

I like all your shots of the horses and foals: a specially handsome orphaned foal.

Lovely shot of them all, and it's great that the orphaned one is doing well. Does he get any mothering from the other mares?
