Sunday, last night's sunset on Mt Rainier, Washington. I usually shoot in Camera Raw, Nikon, but my camera was trying to make this more daytime balanced I guess. So I took a rare path into my D750s Scene options and shot this in "sunset" since it WAS SUNSET. Bingo, my camera no longer wanted to wash everything out. Only output in jpeg, but it worked great choosing my iso, aperture and exposure time.
The rings around the mountain are Lenticular clouds forming. When they get up to the top of the mountain they break off and float away. You can see the floaters on top and off to the left of Mt Rainier. A gorgeous day yesterday, from the gold and red sunrise to the pink and purple sunset.
It's a long time since I've seen a post from you (but I had a period when I was unable to view other's work), I hope all is well and that you will be back to posting on a regular basis as I've missed seeing your mountain.
@bob65 Yes, I've been absent. My husband wasn't well, and his younger brother died January 3rd. But also, I've been totally focused on remodeling my kitchen, powder room and family room. I hope to get back as I miss going out looking for wonderful things to shoot every day, it's a great discipline. Glad you are back too. i paid my $19.99 to continue so hopefully will be diligent.
