Dragonfly

This is a matter of from the sublime to the ridiculous. I went to the lake to photograph a black-necked stork (Jabiru)- a bird that stands 120cm high with a wingspan of 200cm. Saw him but couldn't get a shot. However, thought my luck was in when this dragon fly paused long enough to become today's feature. They are so fast I usually find them difficult to snap.
Cool shot! love the colors!

@ellida @jenrobcarr That jabiru shot is still booked but in spite of their size they are an elusive bird. You have to be lucky.

@jo365 I used Al Harris's (@ oblateal) tips for shooting birds and choose a possible landing spot, focussed and waited. It paid off and you see the results. Thanks Al.

Awesome capture. I love dragonfly pictures and they are hard to get - you not only got the dragonfly but a great composition.

Very nice dragonfly shot. They are hard to get. I've only ever managed three with all the stalking I do. Jabirus are the same; very shy and they take off as soon as they see me. Wish you luck with that one! Thanks for the follow.
