This "elegant fowl", to quote from Edward Lear's poem "The Owl and the Pussycat" was on the top of our farmyard watertank when I went out this morning - without my camera! I came in bemoaning the lost opportunity to Hobo1. My complaints were cut short by his return. After creeping around behind the barn and stealthily moving in under the cover of the loading ramp, I was able to capture several snaps before he flew. He is a juvenile white-necked heron. I have no idea what is lurking up in the tank to attract him.
