What are you looking at? by ubobohobo

What are you looking at?

I went to town today to talk to a class about "the old days"...a little chilling to think I've reached that age! On my way home I dropped into the Awoonga Dam for a photo of the day...thought it would be a water shot but instead caught this old brahman cow with her attending cattle egrets feeding along the water's edge. Cow and bird both looked up and appeared to question, "What are you looking at?" before they dropped their heads again and continued their afternoon's grazing. The egrets follow the cows and feast on the insects disturbed by their grazing.
Lovely capture of this beautiful animal; cute birds, too.

@girlie Thank you. I always think Brahman's look so arrogant. No wonder they are the sacred cows of India

Interesting shot. I always wondered why these birds follow cattle around and now I know.

Beautiful cow and birds! I never saw such a thing and I grew up on a farm in New York State with cows. Very cool how the animals work together.
