I've been trying to capture a shot of our sulphur-crested cockatoos for a while.
Yesterday afternoon the flock settled in the canopy of the gum trees in front of the house. One would think a flock of big white birds would be easy to see. But no. I could only see this pair and one other. Still these two were very obliging and I was able to capture a few shots before, with a raucous screech, they were gone. To my surprise they were followed by about twenty others that had successfully hidden themselves from my prying eyes.
This may be worth viewing on large to see their lovely sulphur crest and the light yellow wash under their tail and wings. I love the look in their eyes too. They are obviously watching me although they are about 40 feet up in the air.
