New Parents

The little willy wagtails have made a nest on a chain hanging from the roof of the hay shed. The parent birds had to modify the shape of the nest to allow for the unusual net site and cope with moving tractors and all the other activity that goes on in a man's shed. Maybe they consider all the noise a protection for their young family that hatched yesterday.
Great shot Margaret. Can't wait to see the little ones.

Great capture. What an interesting nest. I think she may be sharing it with a spider.

Looks like quite a small nest Margaret. The bird must be small. Wonderful capture. I love seeing birds.

An interesting place to put a nest but definitely seems they chose well. Hoping we'll get to see nestlings.

@vernabeth @maggie2 The Willie Wagtail is a tiny bird about 20cm in total length. They use spiders web to weave their nests and they are usually perfect cylinders but this one has been altered in shape to allow for it's unusual position.

@alia_801 The nest is what amazes me too I fear it looks too shallow but the parents are very attentive and Im sure they know what they are doing.
