Sunset over Kroombit Tops

The thin grey line of mountains in the background that form the western edge of our valley are 100m high sandstone cliffs. The plateau that falls away to the west from these cliffs is called Kroomit Tops. Being 900 m above the surrounding area it is much cooler and wetter than our valley. It is described as being "a temperate island in the subtropics." The Kroombit Tops National Park is home to the rare tinker frog. Once my brother-in-law was given the most unusual job of fencing in these little frogs. What he was actually doing was fencing out the wild cattle that lived in the park and threatened the small oasis of piccabeen palm rainforest where the frogs lived among the leaf litter and stones but he enjoyed telling people he was being paid to fence in frogs!
Beautiful - I love the suns rays and the silver lining.

Absolutely gorgeous sunset. I really enjoyed reading about the Kroombit Tops and the frogs. I'm going to have to look up this rare frog and see if there is a picture of it.

This is a stunning sunset! I love those rays and the cloud illumination. Your story about your brother in law protecting the frogs made me laugh. This was an instant fave for me.
