Lunchtime Visitor

Crows shrieked a warning; cattle egrets took to the wing and ducks thumped into the wall of the chook house. A wedge tailed eagle had decided poultry was on the menu for lunch. Fortunately the crows did their job, saved the day and drove the intruder off. Within minutes, all returned to normal.
Wow lots happening at your place Margaret, great B/W shot.

Nature's alarm! It never ceases to amaze me. I wonder what the wedge tail found to eat! Great capture. Your shots always tell interesting stories. Love them.

Oooh how exciting! Crows are intelligent birds - the cows on the other hand seem rather oblivious!

@judithg Exactly. Eagles must be no threat to cows or else they can't understand bird talk! I don't think they even lifted their heads.

This would be a stunning shot even with just the egrets flying off... they are so dramatic against the monochrome. Great shot
