Identical

The only way to tell these two drakes apart is this beautifully curled tail feather. They travel in a trio with the female and are seldom seen alone but I was able get this while the hen was on the nest at sunrise this morning. I love the first rays of sunlight catching his back and beak.
Beautiful capture Margaret, the one on the left looks like he is asking just what do you think you are doing this early in the morning.

The curly tail feather is a give away. Is it normal for 2 drakes to be such good 'friends'? I would have thought they would each have a female!

@jan11 They are very racist! The rest of the ducks are mascovy and these Indian Runners won't mix with them and forage together. The curly tailed one is actually the boss but as long as the other one keeps his place all is peaceful.
