A male chestnut-breasted manikin. A common bird in our area. They feed on grass seeds and at the moment are enjoying my overgrown garden. As they feed they use a sweet little “teet, teet” to keep in touch with each other. There were five on the fence when I started but by the time the camera settled itself and focussed four had flitted off so I will have to be happy with having just one to share.
