Our heat wave continues. The temperature is expected to rise to 38C today. The birds were already suffering this morning with wings spread and panting. But spare a thought for Birdsville in the southwest corner of Queensland. 46C today rising to a record 48.5C by Wednesday next week. That's a massive 119.3F. Let's hope for their sake the forecast is wrong.
WE always keep a container of water out for the birds but on very hot days, we keep a steady supply of ice blocks into the water. The birds love it and will sit and drink enormous amounts at a time.
Nice shot of poor Mr Galah Margaret
