Wonderful memories have come flooding back with the unearthing of this old Jack. In the 70s, in the days before seatbelts in cars as Queenslanders will remember, we had a Nissan Patrol and four young children. We build a platform in the back and fitted it out with a mattress and bedding. The kids travelled so happily - playing, sitting, eating or sleeping what ever their desire. The miles we travelled. The good times we had in that old patrol. Thanks for the memories Jack and the freedom of the 70s!
What a precious narrative to go with this great photo. I also remember the days before seat belts and air bags. I also traveled on the back window, played "i spy", and just watched the miles melt away.
