Facing the Wind

Ibis resting mid-morning in this huge old ancient gum that towers above the other trees. It was struck by lightening and died many years ago. It is a historic tree because it is a scar tree - a tree scarred by aboriginal people when they carved a huge piece of bark from its trunk for some traditional purpose.
So Australian in every way!
