Bridges Up

The lifting of Chicago’s iconic movable bridges is a local rite of spring, marking the beginning of boating season, and in the fall the end of it.
I was lucky enough to catch it today, though it goes on twice a week for about 2 months at the beginning and end of the boating season when owners move their boats from and to winter storage.

They were just closing the bridge where I was, but they open them one at a time so I walked a block to the next bridge.
