A windy rainy and ultimately snowy day in Chicago left me not wanting to leave the house all day. I tried to capture the raindrops on the window this morning, but nothing really pleased me, so as my son is home on Thanksgiving break I took this whilst he concentrated on essays for college applications.
I struggle with both shots of people and low light conditions, and though this is far from perfect, I am slowly improving.
I'm the same way. People and low light are definitely my weak link. Your portrait turned out very nicely though. I like how the concentration shows so clearly on his face.
First, he is darned handsome and such a smart boy for working on his applications! You did great on this shot. So technically challenging. Well done!!!
He is a good looking lad! I love the lighting on his face, but might have preferred the focus on his eyes to be sharper. Otherwise all the other elements work well!
Your son is rather handsome and this portrait really great , a fav for me. I am not keen of portraits........unless they are unposed, natural ones like this with no requirement to 'guide' the model
@888rachel I felt the same way. I think I got some focus on his right eye, but his left eye (nearest the camera) was very soft. I am always open to constructive criticism so thank you :)
Thanks Catherine, I wish at times he had more of it, it comes in spurts, but he is getting better now he is getting older. Overall he does well, so I have few complaints.
@nanalisarocks Thank you so much Lisa, that means a lot to me. I see my growth but to have some one else see it, and mention it means so much to me. Thank you :)
