It's a weekday and I'm never home when the morning sun is at its best. But today I'm home from work, and camera in hand, I started with a "coffee mug/stream on very cold porch" shot, which was OK, but further suffering for my art (having already cooled my coffee while capturing steam), I put on my shoes and stepped outside to catch some shadows cast on the snow/frost on our deck. After playing, a lot, with angles, ISO, DoF, I think I hit it! I really wanted to capture the prismatic colors of the ice crystals in the background, and with the angle and ISO setting, they appear to me as if they're floating above the deck; hence my poetic name. And my hands are now warm enough to type.
