I always loved the brickwork mixed with the stone of this building. I decided it looked better in color rather than in black and white. This goes as another attempt for my get pushed challenge this week of an architectural shot with an interesting POV.
@carolb thanks! I poked through your album looking for your quilting and mosaics. Have you made any of it your subjects? I did see some knitting. I do that too! Anything to create, right?
@vankrey Michael, I realized the other day that almost all of my quilting orojects have been given away, and the mosaics are placed in service after completion. I'll have to get some 'work in progress' shots. The only quilting I posted here was this one: http://365project.org/carolb/365/2013-02-03
That's cool that you knit! I wish more men would get involved in the fiber arts -- it's a great avenue of expression. Although I love the creative process, I also love having something tangible for all my effort. Hve you ever posted any of your knitting shots?
@vankrey Cool design, Michael! I added you as a friend on Ravelry. I haven't been on there much since starting the 365 project -- only so many hours in the day! I have a pinwheel sweater started, but after I screwed up the arm holes and had to frog back, it's been hibernating. :o\
Knitting does have very cool textural qualities that I feel translate well to photography. As someone said on either my knitting or quilting shot, 'making art out of art'.
I really like how you've captured this- it is a great pov and almost looks like you're looking down at a sidewalk if it weren't for the windows. I also love the colors- and that mixture of texture between the bricks and stone. Excellent shot- fav!
