still here

I'll be filing my January with my favorite images of my recent trip to Japan (Jan. 28-Feb 10). This man runs an antiques shop in EchigoYuzawa, the heart of "snow country" in Japan. Each time @jyokota and I visit this area, we see if he has his store open. It's always reassuring to know some things never change. When you walk in, you really have to watch your step and take off your backpack because you'll likely run into some little treasure. It seems like no matter what you buy, he always throws in a little something extra, saying "saabisu" (service) with a smile on his face. @jyokota was unable to meet him this year, so I asked if I could take a picture of him to show her. I took this picture of this man nearly 5 years ago - http://365project.org/vankrey/365/2013-06-27
Awesome picture.

Your depth of field is perfect for showing off his lovely wrinkles yet keeping your background in blurred fuzziness. We should take photos of our treasures from him that now have places in our homes. Especially the picture he asked to give a "nice frame"

I love the pairing of your photo and Junko's from earlier. It emphasizes that sense of time that has passed, but also gives us two perspectives on him -- conveys his personality.
