The Santuary awards

The women of Maharashtra's Pench and Tadoba Tiger Reserves, with the host for Sanctuary's 15th Wildlife Awards ceremony, Dia Mirza. — with Dia Mirza Handrich at NCPA Tata Theatre. Just look at these young women--they patrol tiger forests night and day with only lathis (Bamboo sticks)--easy prey to predators of all ilk ,including men who could be poachers or anyone else. What supreme confidence, courage and commitment. Wildlife Awards were instituted in the year 2000 to recognize and draw national attention to the contribution of individuals working for the protection of wildlife and natural habitats in India.
Sanctuary is an organisation that communicates the rationale for wilderness conservation and environmental protection, particularly in an era of climate change.
It's so good to see these young women getting the recognition they deserve
