Found it in the flowers from my guys this morning. I want to believe they looked through all the flowers at the store till they found this one! ... Right! ;)
Ok, and a bit of explanation. Today is the 8th of March, the International Women's Day. The funny thing is, it started as a political holiday and a day for women to be strong, fight for their rights etc etc... BUT! Celebrated in the Soviet Union as one of the major holidays (and a day off!!!), it came to mean something completely different. You see, everyone was supposed to be "equal" in the Soviet system, and no one needed officially to fight for their rights. And the 8th of March became a day to celebrate the femininity, beauty and the spring. Every woman in Russia (hopefully) is getting flowers today, cards and presents. Think of it as a Valentine's day just for women. And no mandatory "romantic" love involved necessarily - just being a woman or a girl is enough. So, happy Woman's Day to all of you, Russian style. :)
Thank you all so much for visiting and leaving a comment for my heart/rose picture! I was also happy how it turned out, although it meant taking picture after picture, then uploading them just to find out that the focus is too shallow, or the composition is off. Hands down, it was the most photographed flower in the history of our house, but after the round 5, I finally got it more or less the way I wanted. Thank you!
