Irritating... uploaded it twice, and both time such a loss in clarity and sharpness. Sorry!
I was passing by the main entrance to the castle grounds today and saw that this year they also made a "blooming" sign for the park, which, translated form German is called "The Blooming Baroque". I've taken a picture from this side of the palace in the winter at night: http://365project.org/vera365/365/2015-01-24 and the car show picture with reflections was also taken in front of the main facade of the palace. I wish the sky would be not as boring as this one, but the only thing we had today are white clouds.
Thank you for your visits, comments and critique.
An impressive building -- think of it as being a great image as there is not any distraction in the sky!! Thanks for your comments re my Michigan shots -- hope they bring back nice memories over the next few weeks. Where in Michigan did you live?
@amandal :) I believe it might be suitable as family accommodation, Amanda! The fountain with the fish in the middle of the court could serve as a family pool. The kid's part of the museum has a number of kid's size princesses and princes clothes, a dining table setting 30 and a full-functioning miniature theater stage with moving decorations. The adult part of the castle comes with a number of (although historically short) beds and silk-decorated bedrooms, reception rooms, morning nose-powder-rooms, official dining rooms etc. Might be a bit drafty in the winter, but hey, it's historic! :)
Thank you all so much for your comments on the castle! I is a beautiful thing to have in town, and I am glad that is is "used" so well - such a magnet for everyone in town.
@vstap Thanks! I did a couple of shots from behind the sing as well - just the "classic" castle grounds, and I also liked the letters that made it look kind of quirky and unusual. Thanks for noticing them and for your comments!
@ivan Hi Ivan! It's in Ludwigsburg, just north of Stuttgart - highly recommended visit if you will be in the area, especially for anyone who likes gardens and flowers. You can also visit the inner rooms of the castle, but my favourite is the grounds around it - very grand and also peaceful.
@taffy Thank you, Taffy! This building is exactly what made us choose Ludwigsburg as a place to live - the fact that it is there with its gorgeous gardens and children's park attracts so many events and festivals throughout the whole year. It kind of fills the city with life and gives a wonderful backdrop to whatever is going on.
I will be looking forward to your shots from Michigan - I have lived in Ann Arbor for many years, first going through grad school, and then teaching at UofM. And I had no choice but fall in love with Michigan - too many similarities with where I am from - with all that big cold water! My husband is from Michigan, and we also traveled a lot all around the state. We haven't made it to Beaver Island yet though! Thank you for your comments!
love the colours and detail
