Since the day my older son got disappointed to learn that we were expecting another boy, his only "consolation" was that one day he and his brother will sleep in a bunk bed. And with the little one turning three tomorrow, and asking to sleep in a big bed now, tomorrow would be the official historic day of them moving into a long desired bunk bed. Today, I wanted to take a "history" shot of the little one's last night in his baby bed.... but THIS was the only way he wanted to take his picture taken. So, here it is.... Darth Vader's last night in his baby bed.
I couldn't do anything else for the white balance here, as it is a completely yellow room with red curtains, and a mixture of orange ceiling light and very yellow setting sun. And he was constantly jumping, so focus might be off. I liked it anyway!
As always, thank you for stopping by, commenting and also critiquing. It is extremely motivational to read your comments!
Ha, love the story behind this. Life with boys! They just love dressing up. My 21 year old has recently bought a shark costume complete with legs hanging out of it's mouth. Am afraid they never grow up but enjoy the stage you're at now.
I am surprised that a 3 yr old knows who Darth Vader is! Well, I'm a bit older and don't know! Super diary shot and I don't blame him - I just loved bunk beds!
LOVE it! My son (who is now 43) is still a huge Star Wars fan and would LOVE this. He still has his Star Wars pillow case...and he uses it....he has a lovely understanding wife! ;)
@maggiemae He has a father who is into Star Wars, and he has an older brother, who is into Star Wars. So, he has no chance of not knowing it. In fact, for a long time he would point at the Darth Vader and say "Papa!" as my husband played the role of Darth Vader at one of my other son's birthday parties, and this one remembered it. :)
@lindasees Thank you so much for your suggestion! I did it and it looks WAY better! So it goes into our family history in black-and-white thanks to your input :)
@sarahsthreads He thinks he is related to him - Darth Vader is everywhere, in books, posters, figures - all round him, so it's not something "evil", but rather something familiar :)
