Today is that day! A photo a day for a year, no gaps, no fillers, no sick days :) This creation is from a couple of days ago, but I've already uploaded today's 365-th picture to my Runner-Ups album.
I guess, it's an appropriate time for a reflection... I wish I could say that I feel this year has advanced my photography. Rather, my actual feeling is that it has opened my eyes to the multitude of things that I don't know yet and very much want to strive for. What this year did for sure is transforming my relationship with the photography from the occasional picture snapping to a full-fledged hobby that I hope will be with me for years to come. It has been such a privilege to be introduced to so many new things by all of you, to be inspired by your work, to be critisized and want to do better as a result. An enormous "Thank you" for all the support and welcome I received in this community!
Special thanks to @roulin for all the help, criticism and input! Thank you to Clare @pistache, Marta @whimsicalgrateful, Mona @mona65, Ute @californialover for work that has been a great inspiration! And thank you everyone who took time to view, comment, critique my photos and share your opinions of them. Your input and motivation are invaluable and made this year possible!
And yes.... I will be around :)
Wowzer Vera. That's fantastic. I have loved sharing your journey, and what a remarkable year you have had. I certainly think it's advanced your photography, and given me such pleasure to see the challenges you've set yourself, and the amazing images that have come out of that. You've also inspired and motivated me, and given good advice and information. You were one of the first to engage with my images on 365 with your useful and thoughtful comments. I knew that we started round about the same time - I won't be far behind you ;) And I think Marta @whimsicalgrateful is on a similar timescale. I'm so glad you're staying around. Would be quite awful if you didn't ;)
You did it! Wonderful and congratulations! I love your write up and your reflections. I am looking forward to staying in touch with you and seeing our work growing. Happy Holidays! And please, don't stop publishing your pictures here at 365:)
Congratulations, Vera!!! I'm finishing year three in a couple of weeks, and each year has had a different emphasis for what I want to do/learn. I'm so grateful for our 365 community and am looking forward to year four for me, year two for you!
Congratulations Vera!!! What a wonderful accomplishment -- and a great shot to end your year with. I hope you enjoy your move into year 2 and the somewhat more relaxing format it will undoubtedly bring!
Thank you so much for all the wonderful comments, compliments and congratulations on my last picture of the "year". It truly could not have been accomplished without each and every one of you!
Clare @pistache, Marta @whimsicalgrateful, Ute @californialover - I am looking forward to seeing where the end of this year will take you as well! I do remember we all started around the same time, and it does feel like it's almost a kind of a "cohort" that definitely helped me to keep going.
Taffy @taffy - it's actually funny, but even now on day 3 of the second year, I suddenly feel like a lot of pressure was taken off my shoulders. I immensely enjoyed staying on track with the picture a day, and I had the most supportive family that made sure I had time to do it, and yet now after the year is over, I suddenly felt that apart from being a great fun it was also a lot of pressure. So, indeed, a more relaxed year has started for me right from the benning of year 2. Let's see where it takes me from here.
Thank you!!!!!!
Looking forward to your second year!
