To me, this looks like a cheap 30 cent postcard that you buy at the touristy stand, but then again, everything here looks like cliche poscard. Absolutely a pleasure to look at! Our sensory overload today consisted of:
- visiting a 13th century Castle in Sirmione at the end of a stunning long and narrow peninsula (this is the view from the tower)
- watching hundreds of lizards on the hot stones along the lake
- picking from 30+ flavors of icecream at a local ice-cream store
- eating a wonderful lunch in the old town, sitting in a shady courtyard
- swimming in the blue waters of the lake
- walking through a geat ruins of a grand Roman villa at the tip of Sirmione peninsula
- watching dozens of historic and sportscars that were still in town after yesterday's stop of the 1000-mile race - anything from Ferraris and Porsches to Mercedes Silver-arrows and other rarities
Everyone is happily exhausted. :) and is looking forward to more!
Not a cheap postcard, because you took it... just beautiful. What a great day. I really enjoyed your description of your day. Really, such a memory. :)
Wonderful! Lake Garda is so beautiful, I remember that castle very well. Are the huge carp still in the moat? I had a delicious coconut ice cream in the town square. While you're there, do take the chance to go up the cable car at the other end of the lake. http://www.visitgarda.com/en/malcesine-monte-baldo-cable-car/
You guys are being such troopers, you're doing so much and I love it! I love that you're loving it, too! How wonderful, a great recap! But I must disagree, it looks much better than a 30 cent postcard. This is incredible!
