Bazzel loves to watch the birds at their feeder. He came to us past the kitten stage, and was really into hunting. I could not stand calling in the birds just to have him kill them, so I took down the feeders. Now that Bazzel is older, he hasn't been hunting much anymore, so this year, I put the feeders back up. Now he just loves to sit and watch them. They just eat away and he just enjoys the show. I think it is cat version of TV.
My Dad gave me a bunch of his old lenses a while back. They were so old that the f stop does not read on my camera, so I just kept to my updated lenses and put his aside. Well, now that my telephoto is not focusing clearly, I pulled them out and figured out how to use them today. I was planning on posting a shot of the finches at my feeder, something I have not been able to shoot well until today, but I looked down and saw the anticipation on the cat's face and decided to post it instead.
I think this is a beautiful shot. I don't have a cat, but this is one of the postures I remember cats having (back when I was a kid and we had cats and dogs) and I just loved watching them being so focused, so attentive. Look at those whiskers, haha! What an awesome moment. FAV'ed. 8)
This is a fabulous shot. You did a wonderful job of capturing his anticipation. And I just loved the comment about "cat version of TV"--too funny. Have fun with your lenses.
