We had our first real rainfall in months today. It sure did make the fall leaf colors POP! I didn't mind at all getting a little wet to get some photos.
What beautiful oranges you caught here. You are right - the rain made it pop! And 365 does seem to make rain not as big of a deal. I need to hear your singing story! (Meet me at Catherine's place - ha!)
@nana2r I will make a long story short...I joined the choir in the fall...didn't miss a practice until the end of Nov. when I got sick. The next week at practice, the director made an announcement at the end of practice that anyone who had missed the last week would not be in the Christmas production. Guess WHO was the ONLY one who had missed? hmm...it is one way to remove somebody without telling them directly that they can't sing! LOL..oh well, there are other things I found out I like to do in the church besides sing...
@vickisfotos, Vicki that makes me so sad and kind of mad for more than one reason. I really hope it was just a misunderstanding. Church choir can be a funny place. My mother in law always says that choir people are the nicest people in the church, but my daughter had a hard time for a while in her choir and she is a great singer. She gave it a little time and it was like she "broke through" and now it is fine. So much of it depends on the director. My life changed as a choir director when I read the quote from Benjamin Zander that says if things aren't going well, "Who are you being that their eyes are not shining?" Sounds like you have a great attitude. I'm not surprised about that!
@nana2r OH! In trying to make it short, I forgot to say that it was way back when I was in high school...so many years ago and I really have found places that I like to serve in way better! they really are and were nice people, as well as the director...I laugh about so much tho.
Gorgeous color!!!!! Read your story above...whatever happened to make a joyful noise? Ha! No it reminded me of my son a few years back. Private Christian school, Junior High, Singing during chapel, teacher tells everyone to close their eyes and if they get a tap on the shoulder to just "mouth the words". My son got the tap. Teacher got an unhappy email from me.
