I took my husband to the beach for a couple of days for his birthday. We like to be there in the stormy weather...grey cloudy skies, wind, rain...very typical of the Oregon beach in winter. Nice to hunker down beside the fire in our room and watch the ocean.
So beautiful ...love the water action! I love Oregon ... we spent some time along the coast when we lived in WA. Wonderful drive from Lincoln to Tillamook. Love the food too!
@wannabe it is only 2 hours west to the ocean, 2 hours east to the desert, 1 hour to Mt Hood (skiing) and tons of lakes and rivers and waterfalls locally anytime you want! really if you don't mind the rain...it is a great place to live. since I was born here....rain is nothing to me...but it drives my Californian husband crazy!
I have flown over the Pacific Ocean, but never stood on the beach. I looks blustery, but the important thing is, it was a nice get away and the company was good :)
OK... that is a new twist on a beach vacation. I might have to try that. You get to enjoy the beach without putting on a swim suit! This is so pretty! I'm glad to see you on here and glad you had a good time.
What a beautiful shot, Vicki. I saw you mention back a ways that you were coming upon your final photo on a photo that Catherine posted and thought I would see what you did as I am getting close to my final day also. I saw this beach photo and where you are from and had to comment. I was born and raised in San Francisco and loved the beach growing and was there rain or shine and there were plenty of bad weather days but still was a great place to go to. I love your photo as it reminds me of home. I posted a couple of photos from our last visit to the coast on Dec 23 and it was raining and cold but beautiful.
@darsphotos This photo was taken in Lincoln City, Oregon. We do love the beach when it is stormy...good thing because that is how it is most of the time : )

roll in. I love the memories of the coastline. Thanks for sharing.
p.s. Happy Birthday to your husband. I'm sure he knows how blessed he is.
Nothing better to clean you head as a walk on the beach
