I went with my friend Bonnie (@bonniemiles) to find some stars last night. It was a fun night (we didn't finish unitl after midnight!). We chatted with a couple of other photographers that were out there, exchanging fstops and shutter speeds. Always a fun time getting to share your hobby! Those lights on the mountain are the lights from the Timberline ski lift that is open all year. It is one of the only places there is year round skiing. For that reason, sometimes the Olympic team trains here. Here is one that shows the Milky Way. While it was exposing somebody on the other side of the lake where the campground is, shone some headlights into the lake. It made for a unique touch to this shot.
@wannabe@cimes1@eyesmile@pyrrhula yes, there was some processing. I shot it at 6200 ISO, so to make sure there was no noise I cranked up the Contrast, which also makes colors pop out more vibrant. The colors were there, but uping the contrast made them more vivid. I can't wait to go back and shoot there again. Thanks so much!
@leananiemand thanks so much!! I am pretty happy with it! I know that there are better ones that other people take up there, but this is MY shot and I can see an improvement from the last time I was night shooting there a couple of years ago. And that is what this is all about, right...getting better and being happy with improvement.
Wow, wow, wow! I love this. The headlights have a laser beam quality. The sky is so complex with the shades of color and the Milky Way. I just love this. Super fav!
