...still exploringthe possibilities offered by two-tone images, I decided to go in exactly the opposite direction to my high-key shot from yesterday - 'White on Lite', so it seemed logical to call this one Black on Dark - it's a study of one Clematis bloom in contrapoint with one Honeysuckle bloom.
Sometimes it's fun to try something different... and outrageous ;-)
@amandal That's really what drew me to process this image in this way, Amanda - I have preserved the tonal values of the original but without the colour information the image is certainly chaotic... and yet the eye tends to linger longer than it would have done with the original image. I don't know if I love or hate this shot and it probably doesn't matter - I simply thought it was compelling enough to post.
@graemestevens Well, thank you Graeme - I wasn't really expecting anyone to like this much, I just wanted to try something different for the B&W Gardens fortnight.
