Percheron on a mission... by vignouse

Percheron on a mission...

This chestnut Percheron is a stable mate to the two greys that I pictured in this album 14 July - in fact there is also a third grey. The greys tend to graze alongside each other but the chestnut is often a bit of a loner. Here he is, off with some purpose to graze on the other side of the pasture... perhaps he knows something the greys don't?
He is a big boy, isn't he? they have such strong legs! My guess is that the greys don't like him... horses can be quite nasty!

Hard to be unloved. Beautiful details, I can see dappling on the rump. Perhaps some gray in his lineage.

Maybe there is some clover over there. I feel the ground shake.

Beautiful image of this impressive horse in his beautiful pasture. Nicely composed. Fav'ing for the beauty of the whole scene.

Impressive horse, impressively photographed, Richard. The sense of grace and movement is excellent.

Nice image. France postal service had a series of twelve horses a year ago. I think the percheron was featured?

@maggiemae @trinda I was quite worried by the idea that he might be being rejected or ostracized by the greys, so I made a point of passing by their pasture this morning and I was pleased to see that they were all happily grazing close together.

I don't think I've ever seen this breed before! What a powerful looking horse, and such relatively short legs. Nice capture to illustrate it's traits!
