Lilliane's Orange Rose by vignouse

Lilliane's Orange Rose

OK, when I said yesterday, "One more flower picture" - I lied! This isn't SOOC because I shoot in raw but it's only had basic development processing so you're seeing this as I did, in my friend Lilliane's garden. Not only is this orange rose very unusual, it's also all her own work as all the roses in her garden are cultivated by her own hand.

I recommend viewing on black if you have the inclination.
That is one vibrant rose. Gorgeous colour and form and totally worthy of sharing.

The colour emblazons the green background in perfect shape and form. A lovely shot.

This is such a beautiful flower and a wonderful colour too. I must admit that it's difficult not to take shots of flowers, they can look so great if got right, and you've got it just right here Richard.

@judithdeacon It didn't Judith, sadly... but I believe that scent is one of the casualities of creating hybrid varieties.

Stunning! For some reason I seem to have difficulty getting oranges and reds right -- they either seem dingy or too harsh. The color in this shot is PERFECT!

I bet she is delighted to have you take these photographs. Have you given her a printed copy of any. Love how the center is almost yellow and the out leaves are red tinged.

Lovely color. I'd sharpen it up some, and perhaps a bit more clarity/shadow to get some texture on the leaves, but very pretty for sure.

@frankhymus Hello frank - it's interesting how folk view the same image in different ways: I actually applied -20 clarity to the rose for a soft focus glow effect and the leaves are intentionally out of focus so as not to distract from the main subject... all roads lead to Rome ;-)

@vignouse For sure. I have just posted a red flower shot. One of the hardest colors to photograph, at least I think so.
