This is fantastic Richard.

It might just be me, and I might just be weird, but the trees remind me of the circulatory system with veins and capillaries shooting off.

Thanks for the step by step too.

I have to ask if I got you thinking about textures with this one. LOL Love what you have done here. Sorry I didn't post last night but fell asleep on the computer last night. You have taken a nice picture and made it special.
February 4th, 2015
@joansmor The texture is quite subtle on this one Joan - it is visible in the lower part of the picture in the black areas. Without the texture the contrast between the black sky and the light branches was just a bit too much - the texture (only 10% opacity) relieves that some I think.
February 4th, 2015
@vignouse I meant that this is your puddle picture I said might work for a texture and I wondered if that got you thinking. I didn't even look for the texture here. I just enjoyed what you had done.
February 4th, 2015
Wow, just amazing
February 4th, 2015
Maybe someday I'll be able to cook that up.
February 4th, 2015
@joansmor No this is a completely different image that I took with exactly this treatment in mind - the texture was an afterthought to reduce the contrast some..
