I pass this little shack quite often, it's in the far corner of a field down a little country lane. Every time I pass, it catches my eye and although I've photographed it a few times, I've never been able to do it justice.
Today, instead of standing at the field-edge with a zoom lens to frame the scene, I ventured into the field and spent about 20 minutes photographing it in lots of different ways. Finally, this is the one that pleased me: I like the way that the surrounding trees curve in towards this sad little cabin as if to protect it in it's waning years... it was once, after all, a tree like them.
@jack4john Thank you John, yes this is a couple of kilometres from where I live and snapped whilst I was out for a walk this afternoon in the unseasonal but glorious sunshine. I always shoot in RAW so that I have the maximum amount of freedom in post-processing, so yes - shot in colour and converted in processing.
Falling asleep here, long day that started at the dentist. I want to see that cabin up close and personal. But like this picture. @ribbet9 is one of my favorites for old barns etc. She lives near the other Portland. Just thought she might like this one. Can't remember if I have ever seen you posting on hers.
