Spring Growth... by vignouse

Spring Growth...

I had fun in the forest late this afternoon shooting with the Samyang 85mm f/1.4 wide open to give a very limited DoF. I ended up with some interesting images...and a lot of rubbish - the manual focus is rather unforgiving with the lens wide-open on a windy day!

I liked this one the best, so it's my post for today.
It must be fun getting this right! Lots of subjects you could use!

Lovely shot, I sympathize with you on manual focusing. I personally love doing it with my old Nikkor lens, but if the subject is bobbing about, either human, animal or something natural, it can be a real pain:)

We are at the things coming to life and budding stage. I just love to watch the world come to bloom and turn green each stage has it own beauty. Think you got a lot of clarity on those leaves.

@jetr And to think I very nearly posted this in B&W Joan... but then you get to see more than enough white! Thanks for visiting.

@jack4john Funnily enough John, I started with a lot more detailed information and then decided that I was in danger of boring everyone rigid, so I cut it down some!

Great shot!

I really like the dof. Puts the focus on the real focal point of the picture. I am struggling with manual focus. Almost all are blurry. I will get it. Just have to keep trying.

Very much like the contrast between the branch in tight focus and the that which is the also ran. Very untechy speak, must try harder?

Wonderful capture of this new growth, and fantastic DOF. To be able to admire the miracle of new growths is what I love of spring.
