The Parish Church of St. Michel at La Roche Bernard by vignouse

The Parish Church of St. Michel at La Roche Bernard

The first church on this site was built in 1633 but this was demolished and replaced by the present building in 1832. I like the simple elegance of the vaulted ceiling and, unusually, I liked this best in colour!
The color is soft and beautiful.

@dmcoile The picture choice is just right for this beautiful church! The columns are not too sharp and the colour of the timber comes out so well! fav

These kind of images always remind me of Pieter Saenredam and his painting of the Bavo Church in Haarlem, Holland. http://www.codart.nl/images/029_haarlem_bavokerk_1628_philadelphiaW.jpg
And the I always think of the Odolphus church in my hometown Assendelft which is totally different but also painted by Saenredam https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e5/Assetimage.jpg

@mastermek These two churches are so different! I especially love tha Bavo church, the painting is exquisite. Thanks for sharing.

The Bavo is in Haarlem, a big city. Odolphus is in Assendelft, a small town. Me and Saenredam were born there. The difference is obvious!

Absolutely perfect!

Stunning architecture.......those columns are magnificent!

Gorgeous. I presume you corrected the camera perspective, very nicely. You shot this rather well for that then. Funny abiut the modern speakers (I presume that's what they are on the columns) intruding on the "classic" neo-Gothic architecture.
