Firstly, thanks to all of you who treated my rather experimental treatment of a similar scene yesterday with such kindness. Today's photograph was taken from exactly the same place but with hunters arriving from a different direction as they attempted to corner a stag - personally, I'm glad that the stag got away.
No experimental treatment today, but I still anguished over this as I found it difficult to decide between this and a mono version... and as I press the 'Go' button, I'm still not sure that I've made the right choice. And this is supposed to be fun!
It has an iconic look to it -- a scene out of timeless fox hunting events. I like having it in color as it gives it a sense of realism. Maybe sepia for the more timeless, vintage version?
@taffy Thanks Taffy - funnily enough, I did a sepia somewhat washed out version of yesterday's shot before I decided to go with the 'painterly' version.
This is a lovely capture and I like it in colour - Fav I'm glad the stag got away too! Although hunting is a typically English sport and provides some lovely photographic opportunities, I do hate the thought of animals being literally hounded to death.
I love this!! Glad you followed your gut feeling and posted it in color....these are so evocative of the Old Master paintings, whether you process them in that style or not, and I think they are best viewed in full color! You could post the B&W version in one of your other albums if you would like us to comment....or, not!! Oh, and FAV!!
great processing - looks very pompous and fancy
