Our winter visitors the Blue Tits, Great Tits, Coal Tits, Greenfinches etc. are all once again keeping us amused with their antics at the feeders. The Blue Tits' favourites are the peanuts. To begin with, they peck away at the nuts through the wire mesh of the feeders but sooner or later, one of them works out that they can dive down and get a whole nut... soon they will all be doing it. It drives the Great Tits mad because they are too big to turn round and get back out again.
What beautiful colors in this photo, both in the feathers of the little birds as well as the softly-blurred background. Clever characters, figuring out they can get inside the feeder!
Fun to see how clever the birds can be to get what they want. I am seeing more birds at my feeder and some that disappeared for the winter have come back.
