...before the rains come: 90+% of the wheat crop has now been harvested and the straw has already been baled up in all the fields around us. The field in front of our house has over a hundred of these round bales waiting to be gathered up and stored for winter bedding for the dairy herds.
Now that I have Lightroom I have to start rferring to clarity rather than structure. So, this is a great photo to dmonstrate increased clarity! We are at a similar stage here in the South, though I suppose this is a less frequent sight here.
Gorgeous...I find it appealing the regularity of the grass pattern that the bales are sitting on, and the slight pattern of striping in the bales themselves.
@laroque Indeed LR refers to mid-range tonal contrast adjustments as Clarity.... but the 'heavy lifting' for this image was done in Silver Efex Pro 2 so Structure it is ;-))
We always enjoy seeing these big rolls of wheat, etc. in the fields on the prairies of Alberta when we are there visiting family. So much texture shown here in these bales. I like the shot in B&W.
