Paimpont 2018: Day 56 - The One Tree

I like taking photographs of trees - which is just as well considering that we are surrounded by 20,000 acres of them - but often what you see and what the camera sees are not the same thing. That being so, I was delighted with the warm response to yesterday's photo of light rays in the forest... thank you all and you inspired me to try another tree image today.

I was climbing this cleared slope and was struck by how this 'old-fellow' stood out among the spindly new growth.

It stands out even more viewed on black ;-))
Very nice shot

There really is something about that tree isn’t there! Lovely! If you haven’t already done so, you should read “The Hidden Life of Trees”. To be surrounded by 20,000 acres is a dream.

This is another way of doing it I guess. Find one tree that stands out among the rest to give a clear focal point./plane. Very good.
