Today was bright and sunny although bitterly cold: nevertheless, Mrs S and I decided to take Mitzi for a walk up the Valley of no Return. The valley is named from the King Arthur legends and it is said to be where the fairy Morgane led unfaithful lovers to their deaths.
The stream in the picture is the River Aff close to its source in the forest. I seem to be on a tree theme at the moment - I hope you like this one.
Chances are that you'll like it better viewed on black!
oh how exciting - I would love to walk here. I just recently read (well listened to as I do audio books while working on the property) an old favourite rendition of these tales. thanks for putting this up it's just made my day!
this is indeed beautiful and such a lovely composition with the shadows drawing the viewer in to the brightness just where the river bends to intrigue the viewer (especially after your story about the scene).
Great textures and tones with light filtering through the trees and casting shadows. For some reason the curves, leaning trees and the pov throws me off balance a little bit (literally) ; quite interesting
