Ramsey IOM: Really Low Tide by vignouse

Ramsey IOM: Really Low Tide

A watery sun hovers over a very unwatery Ramsey harbour.

How photogenic can a small fishing port be?

To me, it looks very different on black... see what you think.
I agree it enhaces the effect and details on Black

The water is down to not much more than a trickle.

Excellent in every way - much "better" on black, lots if interest

I am always amazed by these harbors where low tide means boats standing on their keel, waiting...

I agree that its a photogenic place. Bet there a lots small details you could have featured but I'm aware that you had weightier things to deal with. As for the B-on-B, you often say it looks better that way, but mostly I can't tell the difference! (With yours mine or anyones!)

@yrhenwr I took all my Fuji cameras and lenses to the IOM but in the event, there was very little time or opportunity for photography, hence the proliferation of night photos as I usually took a short walk before bedtime. I made the decision to use only the XE-3 and 27mm pancake lens (40mm FF equivalent) and the shots I took over the two weeks we were there reflect the characteristics of that pairing. Next trip we'll try to get a day or two off and capture some of the rest of the island.

For me, the images that are BoB are those with subtle shadow detail which is easier to see when the eye's iris is not being closed up by the bright white surround.
