NF-SOOC-2018 - Day 17: Not so plain Plane Trees

I love this avenue of very old Plane Trees that border the River Vienne at Chinon... many of them have trunks over a metre in diamer.

This is for Day 17 of my annual NF-SOOC-September challenge: a month of sooc pictures taken with a 50mm lens or its equivalent for crop-sensor cameras. You can read all about it here - https://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/31977/nf-sooc-september-2018

Comes alive on black!

I thought it might be yours but wasn't certain. Your forest shots are always good and I love this one.The usual excellent depth and the non-procerssing is superb! Fav

VML how they all seem to grow together and lean in sync.

the current artist challenge features alleys of trees like this...

Enjoy them while you can. I passed through what once must have been a similar scene, near Millas on Saturday morning, and they had all been cut down and were ready for burning. The fungus that is killing them is speading north. They can be replaced by resistant American varitied but it will be a few years before their trunks are 1m in diameter.

Plane trees always say France to us, it would be dreadful if those beautiful trees were cut down.

Wonderful high contrast of the light and shadow, tall trees and path leading deep into the photo as the opening narrows and a distant small lone figure.

What a gorgeous shot with the lovely shadows and light and the leading lines.
Hope the trees resist the fungus - some are strong enough to do that. Or - maybe the biologists will find a cure before it gets to you.
Congrats on being selected a finalist with this shot.
