Paimpont 2018: Day 241 - Tombeau du Géant

The giant's tomb - so named because the interior is about 4 metres in length. It dates from around 1500 BC and was probably the grave of a minor prince of the time. Originally the stones were almost certainly menhirs - standing stones - dating from about 2500 BC

It pops more on black!

Looks like the "Hunnebed" we have here in the Netherlands Richard...
But the Hunnebed is 3350 en 3050 BC if im right..
We still have 52 of them, some of those are still intact... (Thank you wikipedia) haha...

I really like this low POV. And the story behind it makes it more meaningful.
Update on camera -- a new one should arrive tomorrow. They did stand behind it quite as they should have.

I'm fascinated - it must be awesome to stand there knowing something is so old and ponder things like - when were they standing, when did they fall, how many faeries have danced around them ... sigh :)

It looks like one of our hunebedden or dolmen as you probably would call them! Great capture!

VML the soft tones; they reinforce the long gone era that you have sensitively interpreted.
