Dead Poplars...

...and another of Brittany's dramatic Autumn cloudscapes.

Poplars are particularly susceptible to become infested with mistletoe which slowly kills the tree... and then the mistletoe dies too - go figure!

You know how to view this...
That’s because mistletoe is a parasitic plant getting its food and nutrients from the host plant.

I just love that dramatic sky and it shows best on the black.

The mistletoe are rather beautiful but knowing that they are parasitic plants makes them les pretty :-(

Such a shame - we have similar climbing plants which suffocate the tree they are climbing - one particular one is called "Old Man's Beard" Another, "Bush Lawyer"!
