Dog Walking - Covid 19 style!

The Covid-19 lock-down allows Mrs S and I to only leave the house for essential food shopping, for medical reasons or for individual exercise which includes dog walking. We must complete and carry with us an 'Attestation de Sortie' declaring the reason why we have left home and a new one is needed each time we leave the house. There will be regular police checks on people moving around and failure to follow these new rules will result in a fine of 135€ for a first offence and then a range of escalating punishments culminating in forced detainment!
Goodness, that is severe! France is becoming a problem like Spain and not to leave out Italy! Nice to see you have the countryside to walk in!

Dang! You'd better behave then! ;)

This all feels like a science fiction movie. Hoping that these extreme measures keep you and Mrs. S safe. All the more extraordinary to see in a rural French idyllic lane.

Very strict measures but not without reason. We are not quite on lockdown here yet but certainly have had a number of restrictions put on our daily lives. Most of us are working from home, where possible, and others are not working at all, since our jobs can't really be done from home. Stores that sell none essentials are being strongly encouraged to close although not yet mandated to shut down.

Nice picture. Same rules in Italy. They are important to protect ourselves but also the entire community. Look at China: their lockdown was extremely strict and now they no longer have cases. We are still waiting to see the effects of the more stringent rules put in place on March 7. So far the three Regions with the highest rate of infection haven’t shown a significant improvement. It should be evident within a week, IF the people have been obedient. We wait holding our breath.

Yikes not that bad here yet. Lovely

Oh dear, but a guess the people of that region remember worse.

A tranquil image that belays the reality. I adore this one, the dappled shadows, curved road and farmhouse just bring me peace and calmness. FAV!

Unsettling times combined with unknowns on all fronts are causing societal storms we must learn to navigate. No lock down here yet but.... Stay safe and well.

I like your photo of Mrs. S. At first it seems quiet and peaceful, but combined with your commentary, it's sad.

A nice, tranquil scene for disturbing times

Beautiful phot, frightening situation. Here in central part of USA we're "social distancing". We just had the first (announced) case in our county, though...

Wow! I can't even imagine that kind of crackdown, although it may be coming for us as well. Today, our governor shut down restaurants for dining in. You can only get take out. Stores are still open, although shelves are empty.

Wow, I didn’t realise this self isolation was so strict!
March 18th, 2020
I'm glad this is being taken seriously and I hope you both stay totally safe

I can just see me strolling down that road in my coat and gas mask...

I'm just about to go out with K9...and our 'attestation de sortie' aka permission to go out. It could be worse...think dog walking/dragging in the pouring rain!

@graemestevens I would pay to see that!

A beautiful photo to depict such a strange moment in our lives...

Lovely well composed shot Richard ... and not a single virus to be seen! Drastic rules you are being subjected to... but needs must. It feels like GB's govt has tried to be hands off, but the screw will have to be tightened. Stay safe
