I've noticed in the past few days that quite a few of us on here are making a conscious effort to do something different. Here is my today's different offering - Paimpont's Christmas lights... in B&W. And if that isn't different enough for you - this is SOOC.
Actually, it's not so silly doing the lights in B&W because there are light sources in this image with at least five different colour temperatures, so impossible to get a satisfactory overall colour balance.
These decorations are modest because Paimpont prefers to spend it's Christmas budget in other ways: again this year there will be two weeks of a free Son et Lumière show laser projected against the walls of the Abbey. It promises to be even more spectacular than last years and judging from the set-up trials I saw tonight, I'm sure that's going to be the case.
Finally, I'm sure that this will give of its best viewed on black.
For me it is reminiscent of that scene from "It's a Wonderful Life." Which of course was originally shot in BW. Hate when they colorize these old movies.
Of course it is good in black and white! Messy colour would surely stop me from looking more deeply. The depth is just great. I would want to tow away those vehicles! They spoil so many a shot.
@Taffy and I saw streets like this in Barcelona, and @jborrases posted some images of them, too! IN fact, as we went by the ones in Barcelona, we both remarked that we had seen that street before -- in photos! Check out his photo, too: http://365project.org/jborrases/365/2015-11-30
